Position: Assistant Professor of Film and Electronic Arts (Production Management)

Effective Date: August 17, 2020 (Fall Semester)

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience


Required Qualifications:

  • MFA in Film and Television Production or film-related discipline
  • Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of degree by August 1, 2020
  • Evidence of active creative record and professional production management/ producing credits as demonstrated by CV and portfolio of work
  • Demonstrated ability to teach film/TV production management and related courses at a college-level
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing current production management/producing techniques, software, and technology
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of best industry practices and approaches toward inclusive hiring and ecological sustainability
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of at least five years of professional production management experience in narrative, documentary, diverse media, and/or broadcast production projects
  • Experience in the development of production management/ producing curriculum 
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, diverse media, and best inclusive industry practices related to pre-through post-production and delivery workflows
  • Ability to foster partnerships with professional or academic community-based clients
  • Record of active engagement with industry and professional organizations
  • Ability to serve as a mentor and professional liaison for students
  • Broad knowledge of film history and theory


  • Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate courses in production management/ producing in addition to courses in production related areas
  • Engage in outreach, student mentoring, and involvement in student activities
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting part-time faculty
  • Act as program liaison with professionals in the field
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and support inclusive and forward thinking curricular, international and community-based partnership learning programs
  • Develop and maintain ongoing research, scholarly, and creative activities
  • Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community

  • Finalists will also be required to submit the following:
  1. A signed SC-1 form,
  2. Three current letters of recommendation independently provided by references, and
  3. An official transcript (e-transcript preferred, if available)
