Assistant Professor, Film & Video

The Columbus College of Art & Design invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor appointment in the Film & Video program. The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who leverages industry trends and technologies to deliver relevant classroom experiences. The successful candidate will be a leader in cinematography and post-production, be able to utilize and teach the Red digital camera, and have experience with standard industry digital tools including Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Movie Magic and Final Draft. Candidates must be proficient in a variety of film and video industry skills and have the ability to teach across the curriculum. The position carries the expectation for departmental and college service in addition to teaching responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate an active and diverse professional network and the willingness to maintain and grow these networks as a faculty member.

CCAD is looking for a dynamic and engaged person for this program with significant professional film and video experience and networks in the independent film industry. We also seek individuals who are energized by the challenge and promise of this opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with the program chair, and faculty from other programs, specifically Photo and Animation, in further strengthening the vision and personality of the Film & Video program. CCAD seeks a candidate who can collaboratively engage with faculty and mentor students. Experience with film festivals and competitions (active participation or encouraging student engagement in such activities) is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills; show initiative, dependability, empathy, and reliability.  Also, the candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Position: Assistant Professor, full-time

Qualifications: Terminal degree in Film & Video or related field, complimented by professional experience and a minimum of three years of college level teaching experience.
