Manager of Media Technologies and Production Facilities to be responsible for the design and maintenance of the department’s media production spaces and equipment; training of student workers to help maintain and manage the facilities and equipment; work with departmental media technology specialist to meet departmental needs and with faculty to meet course instructional goals.
Duties/Physical Demands:
  • Design and maintain media production spaces, including a multi-camera, multimedia production studio
  • Assist with various types of remote productions
  • Purchase and maintain media production equipment
  • Work with a diverse MJF constituency to meet department educational goals
  • Manage engineering and production budget
  • Oversee student workers
  • Prepare various reports regarding operations, grant applications, and capital requests
  • Possibility of teaching media production courses, based on credentials
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, IT engineering, broadcasting, media production, digital media production or related discipline; five years of experience in maintaining technology in a media production environment; engagement with new technologies and industry innovations; strong personal communication skills. Teaching credentials: Master’s degree or high school diploma and one of the following: 20 years of experience managerial or executive level professional experience or highly applied professional experience; at least 18 graduate credits in field plus four years of significant professional experience (including teaching); or professional certificate plus four years of significant professional experience in field. This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Desired Qualifications:

Experience teaching production in an academic setting; proficiency with digital production software; experience on/with media production; experience with digital film production; ability to manage and maintain scheduling and/or inventory software; experience with streaming technologies; affiliation with professional organizations.
