The Film Studies program seeks to fill a two-year full-time position in film production beginning in the fall of 2020. With a teaching load of five courses per year, the individual in the position should be thoroughly familiar with the latest industry-standard camera, sound and editing technology and will be responsible for teaching introductory and advanced filmmaking and various film production electives including a course in screenwriting. The candidate must also be able to integrate the technical and artistic/film historical aspects of filmmaking in their course offerings and be able to teach the gateway course in film history and analysis. In addition to teaching five courses, the responsibilities of the position include supervising senior production theses, assisting the program director in managing the inventory of film equipment and use of film production spaces, and taking an active role in contributing to the growth of cinephile culture on campus. The successful candidate will have established a track record of creating and exhibiting films, experience in teaching courses in film production and studies and have an MFA in film/video.
