The NYU/Tisch Graduate Film Program is searching to hire a creative, dynamic professional to fill a full-time, tenure line. The candidate will also serve as the Chair of the department beginning in September 2021. (Please note: Tisch School of the Arts Department Chairs are fixed appointments, renewable at the discretion of the Dean.)

This preeminent conservatory program trains students in a rigorous, hands-on approach to filmmaking. Demonstrated professional film production background, a strong commitment and desire to work with students and familiarity with the film and/or television industry are required. On-going professional work is expected and encouraged. Evidence of teaching experience or ability at the university level is preferred, as well as demonstrated leadership ability in a creative and collaborative environment. We are actively seeking applicants that have a commitment to equity-forward leadership practices and experience leading and encouraging the ongoing development of inclusive communities.
 
The regular teaching load for Grad Film full-time faculty is five courses per year. The Chair will administer the department; oversee on-going curriculum development; schedule faculty; teach one course per semester; advise graduate students; and participate in departmental and school-wide committees.

Salary, to be negotiated, includes an excellent benefits package. Finalists may be asked to submit creative work.
