In the Spotlight today is the 2018 ScreenCraft Action and Thriller Screenplay Competition, cultivating extraordinary writers in the genre and presenting their best work to a jury of industry executives eager to discover talent. This year's jury includes Jenny Wood, Manager at Elevate Entertainment; Belle Avery, Producer at Appelles Entertainment (The Meg); Matthew Leonetti, Executive at Columbia Pictures; Andrew Bergamo, Executive at The Donners Company (Deadpool); Jeanetter Francis, Creative Executive at Bad Robot (Cloverfield); and Screenwrtier Steven E. de Souza (Die Hard,Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life).

Past ScreenCraft winners are consistently signed by top literary managers and agents such as CAA, UTA, 3 Arts, Kaplan/Perrone, and many more. Most notably, winners have gone on to garner additional work with major networks as well as sell and option other projects. Lindsay Golder who has won multiple awards through ScreenCraft writing competitions is now represented by CAA and was a staff writer for the hit FOX sitcomThe Mick. After winning ScreenCraft's 2015 Action-Thriller Screenplay Competition, Sarah Hopkins is now represented by literary manager Jeff Portnoy at Bellevue Productions.

The First Place writer will receive a $1,500 USD cash award and the Second Place writer will take home a $500 cash award. The ScreenCraft team will also provide professional consultation as they help prepare writers to pitch their work. ScreenCraft will then provide personalized phone introductions will be to top Hollywood managers, agents and producers who specialize in action and thriller development and production.
