In the Spotlight today is the 6th Diverse Voices presented by WeScreenplay, a screenplay competition that invites Features, TV Pilots, and Shorts. Diverse Voices is a screenplay contest and lab that strives to encourage stories that are told from perspectives that are often underrepresented in Hollywood today. This includes writers of color, women writers, writers with disabilities, writers over 40, writers in the LGBTQ+ community, and any other voices that have historically been ignored by Hollywood.

Every entry receives scores from two judges and submitters will receive scores through every round. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 USD cash award, and all winners receive travel accommodations to LA to attend the four-day Diverse Voices Lab. WeScreenplay awards are intentionally crafted to help already excellent screenwriters hone their craft just a little more. The Lab will include hands-on development with industry executives, WeScreenplay staff, writers, and each other. It'll also include meetings with executives and managers about you, your writing career, and your projects in development.

Past winners have gone on to sign at top Hollywood management companies like Heroes and Villians, Industry Entertainment, and Zero Gravity. Others have optioned work and developed projects with executives. WeScreenplay is committed to helping all our winners take the next step forward in their careers, whatever that may be.
