In the Spotlight today is the 23rd Annual FADE IN AWARDS(Fade In). With over twenty-two years experience discovering, mentoring and promoting emerging writers and filmmakers to vital industry contacts, Fade In Award winners have gone on to sign with major Hollywood talent agencies ICM, UTA, CAA and WME; have their winning screenplay/teleplay made into feature films and television shows (Preston Tylk,Clay Pigeons,Adam,If Only) and; be nominated for Academy Awards (Culture).

Fade In accepts screenplays, teleplays, short films and web series, from writers and directors worldwide, in nine distinct categories specifically tailored to the genre or format of your project, including; Action, Comedy, First 10 Pages, Horror, Thriller, True Story/Biopic, TV Pilot/Web Series, Short Film/Short Script & Sci-fi. Grand-Prize winners are awarded airfare and accommodations to attend the 2019 Hollywood Pitch Festival, where they will meet with their choice of 200 buyers and reps, plus a professional script analysis. First-prize finalists receive a $500 USD cash award plus 25Greenlightmymovie.comsubmissions ($750 USD value) and Second-place finalists receive $250 plus 15Greenlightmymovie.comsubmissions ($450 USD value).

The BlacklistExecutive Producer/Creator Jon Bokenkamp calls his decision to enter the Fade In Awards, “The most important moment in my career.” “When CBS Studios producer Todd Nelson encouraged me to submit, my inclination was to say, ‘No.’ I remember thinking there was no way I could afford it. But my script Preston Tylk won and got me an [CAA] agent. It was huge for me.” Bokenkamp went on to work with Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry on Taking Lives and Perfect Stranger, respectively.

The Fade In Awards were established in 1996 to assist talented new writers and directors with getting recognized within the Hollywood community in order to begin a career as a working filmmaker. Its mission is to find those talented artists who are ready to ascend to the next level.
