In the Spotlight today is the 9th AnnualCapital City Film Festival(CCFF), named byMovieMaker Magazineas one of the top “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World.” CCFF is a thrilling immersion of independent films and innovative contests, live touring bands and multimedia experiences that engages audiences in Michigan’s capital city.

The eleven-day event spanning multiple venues throughout Lansing, CCFF exposes its diverse and enthusiastic attendees to engaging films, conversations, and musical entertainment that aim to challenge, inspire, and enlighten audiences. Capitalizing on a walkable, downtown environment, CCFF draws big crowds and great buzz, year after year. Adding to the indie experience, CCFF makes live music an integral part of the festival hosting numerous local, national, and international touring bands, even partnering with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Other musical acts have included mewithoutYou, Dan Croll, Dessa, Danny Brown, The Mowglis and many more indie favorites.

Invited filmmakers will enjoy all-access passes and the opportunity to engage in robust Q&As after the screenings of their respective films. CCFF presents a wide range of films, music, and games, from the fantastical to the minimalist and seemingly everything in-between. Each year, CCFF's media profile grows larger and larger, thanks to an extensive marketing effort across the state of Michigan that draws filmmakers of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Capital City Film Festival is also proud to present the Fortnight Film Contest. The Fortnight Film Contest gives teams two weeks to create an original short film, 10 minutes or less. The top ten films will be screened at the fest and 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams plus Audience Choice will hav receive cash awards.
