In the Spotlight today is the 2019 ScreenCraft Family Screenwriting Contest, seeking family-friendly feature film screenplays. ScreenCraft aims to bring high-quality films that appeal to the whole family - one of the industry's most influential moviegoing audiences. All semifinalists will receive an invitation to the exclusive ScreenCraft Writers Room private Facebook Group, where they can connect with respected screenwriters and leverage the opportunity to capture their unique advice and creative guidance.

The most valuable takeaway for the First Place winner aside from the cash award will be the introductions made by ScreenCraft to producers, agents, and literary managers. Furthermore, jury members will provide direct feedback to the winning writer to offer actionable next steps to help their script thrive. Lynn Goldman's script was optioned by an acclaimed writer-producer after winning ScreenCraft's Family Friendly Screenplay Contest. The First Place winner will take home a $1,000 USD cash award and the Second Place winner will be awarded $500.

This season's jury members include Amanda Miess, Director of Develop at Pure Flix; Heather Overton, Programming and Development Executive at Hallmark Movie Channel and Crown Media; The Wibberleys, an American husband and wife screenwriting team behind such four-quadrant successes asNational Treasure,I Spy, andThe Sixth Day and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle; and Josh Nadler, Director of Development at Sony’s Affirm Films.
