In the Spotlight today is the 8th Annual Trinity Film Festival(TFF), highlighting the best undergraduate student short films in the world at Cinestudio Theater on the campus of Trinity College. TFF is a platform for undergraduate student filmmakers to exhibit short films to the widest possible audience of peers, professionals, and local theatergoers in the northeastern United States. Students benefit from the festival's ability to draw a large audience on the Trinity College campus in the 1930s-style, state of the art, Cinestudio Theater.

Every spring TFF hosts an unforgettable celebration for student filmmakers. Prizes totaling more than $4,000 USD will be presented the top filmmakers as judged by TFF's panel of industry professionals. "Trinity Film Festival is the festival to meet the future filmmakers of the industry," says Brian Hayes Currie, Oscar winning writer and producer ofGreen Book, and TFF 2019 judge. Past guest supporters have included Mark Moses, D.B. Sweeney, Stephen Gyllenhaal, Lauren Wolkstein, Henry Alford, Bill Raymond, and many more. "There is nothing I enjoy more than watching the next generation of artists step into the world," says alumni panelist Mary Buck, two-time Emmy Award Nominee and former President of the Casting Society of America. TFF enjoys corporate sponsorship from companies such as Comcast who value the vision of fostering undergraduate filmmaking.

The Festival welcomes all filmmakers to participate in events throughout the weekend, such as Friday's pre-reception, Oscar nominated short film screenings, the red carpet opening, and the closing awards banquet. The Academy Awards-style reception gives filmmakers, audience members, and professional panelists the opportunity to engage with one another and celebrate the art of filmmaking. Films of any genre, under ten minutes, created by undergraduate students are welcome. Taking place on one of the most iconic New England college campuses in the country, filmmakers are sure to be inspired by this beautiful and invigorating academic location.
