Standing-room-only audiences welcomed Arthur Dong's newest bookHollywood Chinese: The Chinese in American Feature Films. Launch events were presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, and the Center for Asian American Media in San Francisco. A celebration party followed in West Hollywood, hosted by the iconic Formosa Cafe where Arthur'sexhibiton early Chinese American movie history is on display.

Hollywood Chinesechronicles the Asian American influence on Hollywood, from the earliest films set in American Chinatowns to contemporary artists remaking the face of Hollywood. Over 500vintage photographs, movie posters, lobby cards and ephemera based on the author’s collection richly illustrate the myths, misconceptions, and memorable moments of the Chinese in American cinema.
