In the Spotlight today is the 26th AnnualRaindance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the UK. With more than 25 years of experience in the film industry, Raindance continuous to be the voice of the independent filmmakers from the UK and around the world. The Festival screens roughly 100 feature-length films and 150 shorts, the impressive showcase has helped make it one ofMovieMaker Magazine's"Top 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee." Raindance's exceptional history has earned the event qualifying status for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and British Independent Film Awards.

In previous years, Raindance has hosted the UK premieres of groundbreaking modern classics includingPulp Fiction,Memento,What's Eating Gilbert Grape?,Ghost World, andThe Blair Witch Project. The festival is also flooded with epic icons of film, music, and television. Iggy Pop, Quentin Tarantino, Faye Dunaway, Ken Loach, and other legends have all been in attendance to celebrate filmmaking at its cutting edge. Time and again, film executives and buyers, journalists, film fans, and filmmakers return to Raindance in search of "the next big thing." Acclaimed actor JK Simmons shares, “There were several other festivals that offered [I’m Not Here] a spot but I’m glad we held out for this one.”

Raindance Film Festival offers to filmmakers unrivalled networking opportunities in London to meet the local and international industry professionals in attendance. The Raindance Film Festival, running in central London since 1993, aims to show the very best in new independent cinema from the UK and around the world, accepting films of all lengths and genres.

Raindance unfolds in London's West End - famous for its energy, curiosity, and engagement with the arts and entertainment. The festival will be held at the Vue Cinema West End, and evening galas and industry events will percolate throughout Soho, Piccadilly Circus, and Covent Garden. All told, Raindance covers the gamut of many of London's best sights, sounds, and eateries. It's an adventure many festival guests can't wait to revisit.
