In the Spotlight today is the 13thLA Indie Film Festival & Screenplay Competition, a bi-annual event that invites filmmakers to the entertainment capital of the world by way of film, script, music video, web series, or TV pilot. Over ten days all screenings and events unfold at LA Indie's Let Live Theater which regularly plays host to some of the most innovative cinematic, theatrical, and musical performances in the city.

Each season LA Indie showcases more than 50 emerging filmmakers to an intimate audience in Los Angeles including dedicated cinema fans seeking to advocate for new films as well as industry professionals ready to discover hidden talents. The 12th season of LA Indie earlier this year included the screening of three feature films which were all LA premieres and twenty projects screened as part of the shorts competition.

LA Indie is also proud to welcome screenplays with cash awards presented to the Best Feature Screenplay, Short Screenplay, and TV Pilot Script. Multiple award opportunities are available in film categories including: Audience Choice Award, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Foreign Film, Best Music Video, and Best Animation. All taking place in the entertainment industry's backyard - it's a lively event for networking and the opportunities for recognition are bountiful.

LA Indie provides dual emphasis is on discovering great talent with the purpose of promoting it to both the entertainment industry and the LA public, as well as, showcasing the works of seasoned professionals and well-known stars.

LA Indie was launched by the team behind LA Comedy Film Festival after receiving films that were not the right comedy fit but nonetheless impressive films that deserved to be screened before welcoming audiences and Industry pros. Comedy films are welcome to submit as well!
